Raishin Akabane, an exchange student from Japan, arrives at the Walpurgis Royal Academy of Machinart with a goal: use his beautiful automaton Yaya to become the world's most powerful mage, gain access to the forbidden arts, and use them to kill a man.

One of the Rounds makes Raishin an offer he can't refuse. In exchange for a festival entry, he'll have to investigate a mysterious puppeteer who eats automatons' hearts right out.

Raishin and Yaya receive some unexpected visitors. Meanwhile, Felix and Charlotte each set out to capture "Cannibal Candy," but their plans have irreconcilable differences.
