Episode 1
Meanwhile, in the arctic rescue scenario, Dan accidentally fires a flare-gun at a small plane signalling to him; the pilot in the plane is injured (both hands broken) and thus cannot perform a critical operation. Because of that, Dan becomes the only person available who can operate on a young Eskimo woman suffering from appendicitis.
Episode 2
Meanwhile, Dan is actually alive, stranded with an Eskimo family and pulled into performing surgery: when the only available doctor’s hands are broken, Dan has to step in and perform an appendectomy on one of his rescuers.
