Neighbours - Season 3

The long-awaited day of the exam results arrives - will it bring joy or sadness? While Charlene, Jane, Mike can celebrate, Scott is bitterly disappointed. Jim expects Scott to repeat the school year. Helen is visited by a strange man who introduces himself as Reverend Errol Price, but the visitor is destined to cause a lot of heartache.

Scott sees his brother in new light when Paul buys him a car. Sinister things are happening at the cemetery. Alleged prison chaplain Reverend Errol Price reveals his true colours. He doesn't care about the well-being of his fellow human beings, but wants to wipe out their lives. Paul and Susan have a row.

Helen hasn't come home all night. Paul spots her car in a parking lot. The Robinson family is in a frenzy and suspect that Reverend Price has something to do with Helen's disappearance, then Paul gets some interesting facts from the prison - the real Reverend Price is a much older man.

Reverend Eroll Price is revealed to be Ralph Drew and Helen's kidnapper. Shortly after, he shows up at the Robinsons. When he leaves their house, Charlene and Shane give chase. But it quickly becomes a dangerous mission.

Dan pays a furtive visit to the doctor. Kelly tells Daphne she killed her father. Madge is left money by her aunt Maud in a will. She is to be paid a large sum if she can prove to her father Dan that she has become a decent and honorable woman.

Paul fires Susan. Helen appears to have made a full recovery, but later becomes tired and emotional.

Clive gives a verdict on Dan's health. Charlene and Kelly put Mike and Scott in an embarrassing situation.

Daphne and Madge begin to scheme for Clive and Susan's wedding. Mike and Scott are caught with their trousers down. Shane is bitten by a snake.

Susan is forced to admit her true feelings for Paul.

Kelly tries hard to impress Shane. Susan makes a decision about her future.

Clive blames Paul for Susan's sudden disappearance.

Susan reaches out to Charlene. Scott gets his first pay cheque.

Clive accuses Paul of ruining his life.

Paul offers Mrs Mangel a full time job at Lassiters. Scott's first article is published.

Charlene begs Madge to call Mr Bishop, Charlene thinks Paul has ruined Clives life but Shane tells her to not be so hard. Charlene reads Scott’s article and says if it is published it will cause a stink that he will not hear the end of.

Madge is upset to learn that Charlene still has ambitions to be a mechanic. Helen gets a visitor.

Scott and Lucy get in an argument about Basil coming to the beach with them. Scott does not want Basil stinking out his car. Things get saucy at the beach with Scott and Charlene and Basil put himself in a life threatening situation when he jumps off the pier.

Lucy and Mike are on the pier calling and looking for Basil. They cannot find him, Mike dives into the sea. Mike comes up from under the water and Lucy shouts if he can see Basil. Mike shouts back that he cannot see him anywhere, he swims under the pier and dives down under the ocean in a vain search for Basil.

Scott's newspaper article has widespread repercussions in Ramsay Street.

Des and Daphne have a showdown that sees Des thrown out of his house. Helen gets some alarming news.

Scott is determined to continue with his newspaper article. Eileen is very supportive of Daphne.

Rosemary returns to Erinsborough and receives some bad news. Scott's latest article is published, angering Madge.

Mrs Mangel tells Helen the truth about her husband. Charlene gets an apprenticeship in a garage, Rosemary is determined to find out the truth.

Charlene starts her job, but it doesn't go well. Scott manages to stop the publication of his next article, with Jim's help. Madge has a plan to get Des and Daphne back together.

Madge hosts a dinner with some of the neighbours.

An argument between Des and Daphne ends in disaster.

Daphne and the baby are fine and Des apologises. Rosemary finds some letters that reveal some devastating information.

Rosemary is upset over the fact that Helen had an affair with her fiance so she moves into Lassiters, Charlene visits her brother in prison.

Madge tries hard to find the money to save her son. Mike gives bouncer to Lucy. Henry is released from prison but Madge wont have him in her home.

Henry gets to stay and Jim tries to make Helen and Rosemary friends again.

Sue Parker makes a pass on Scott, Paul and Jack agree on a business deal, Rosemary will go to France to organise it all and will take Lucy to see Bradley.

A Journalist takes an unusual interest in Paul's life.

Rosemary convinces Paul to stay on at Lassiters. Paul thinks that Clive told the journalist about his private life. Clive makes plans to move out of Ramsay Street. Des and Daphne are stuck in the claws of ruthless thieves.

Daphne is kidnapped and Des fears for her life as he is forced to open the safe.

Scott and Eileen rescue Daphne. Harold tells Madge that he intends to stay in Erinsborough. Shane has lost some money and accuses Henry of theft.

Henry assures Shane that he is innocent. Des receives some tragic news.

Des tells Mike that his father is dead. Shane finds some money and has to make an excuse. Mike makes plans to leave Ramsay Street.

Des and Daphne say goodbye to Mike. Madge offers Harold a place to stay, an offer he turns down. Instead he rents a room off Mrs Mangel.

Paul and Rosemary have to spend money to stop an article being printed. Jane realises that it was Mrs Mangel who spread the gossip, but is she going to tell Paul? Henry decides to try and sell Helen's early paintings.

Henry sells some paintings, but are they the correct ones?

Bouncer moves in with Des and Daphne. Jim tries to buy Helen's paintings back.

Jane threatens to tell Paul the truth unless Mrs Mangel gives the painting back to Helen. Des and Daphne welcome Mike back.

Paul needs help at the office, his old boss Gail Lewis applies for the job. Des and Daphne invite the Robinson's for dinner, but Jim and Des start fighting over who is the best.

Des and Jim's contest continues. Helen is eager to start work on Mrs Mangels portrait.

Daphne thinks that Des should ease up with his gym training, Paul employs Gail. Harold proposes to Madge.

The rivalry between Des and Jim escalates, with Scott and Mike getting involved. Madge makes a momentous decision.

Jane has to decide where her loyalties lie. Charlene, Jane, Madge and Mrs Mangel get involved in the sport competition.

Henry decides to run a book on the showdown between Des and Jim, whilst the other residents get in a competitive mood.

Paul suspects Mrs. Mangle about going to the Journalist and she begs for understanding, Jane tries to help as Mrs. Mangle tries to justify herself…Paul wants to know exactly what’s going on.

Henry owes people some money, after the relay race, resulting in a visitor at the Mitchell house.

Madge and Mrs Mangel continue their feud. Des and Jim encounter trouble during their race.

Des manages to find Jim, but with the phone and car vandalized, there is no way to get help. Jim tells Des to walk 10k through the bush, but he slips and lands in the river. Scott plays a prank on Charlene at the beach.

Jim gets rescued, but where is Des? Charlene gets revenge on Scott.

Daphne, Eileen and Mike anxiously await news of Des.

Des and Jim return home. Lassiters staff go on strike.

With the staff on strike, Paul's important convention looks set to be a disaster. Ramsay Street residents agree to help out.

Can Jane persuade Mrs Mangel to tell the truth? Will the convention be saved?

Mrs Mangel finally tells the truth, resulting in Lassiters staff going back to work. Scott plays an April fool on Jim.

Mrs Mangel and Jane come to an understanding. Harold and Madge get engaged. Charlene gets offered a job. Mrs Mangel gets her job back.

Charlene's new job is in Brisbane, will Scott let her leave? Daphne has a surprise visitor.

Madge isn't happy when she finds out Charlene didn't go to Brisbane, but they soon come to an understanding. Des has a drink with Daphne's father and ends up inviting him for dinner.

Harold buys Madge an engagement ring. Daphne refuses to see her Dad.

Daphne tells the truth about her father. Harold decides to behave like a parent towards Charlene and Henry.

Henry and Charlene are not happy about Harold interfering in their lives. Gail's father, Rob, is a mechanic and is looking for an investor. Jim is interested, but they need another one. Henry invites Jane to a party and tells her that he wants to date her again. But she reveals that she is in love with Mike.

Scott and Charlene come up with a plan to get Harold and Madge off their back. Mrs Mangel sees the portrait that Helen has painted of her.

Mrs Mangel does not like her portrait and is determined to stop Helen showing it in her exhibition. Henry gets the attention of an older woman.

Henry finds himself in trouble. Helen gets some disappointing news.

Helen decides that she doesn't want to paint anymore. Scott and Charlene's plan backfires. Daphne receives an unwelcome gift.

Rob gives Charlene a job in his garage, which Harold has agreed to invest in. Daphne visits her dad.

Charlene's situation with Warren gets more complicated, Daphne's dad comes for dinner, but it doesn't end well.

Scott tells Warren the truth about him and Charlene, making him very upset.

Scott tries to apologise to Charlene. Scott gets into an argument with Warren. Who is Henry's new girlfriend?

Henry's new girlfriend is revealed, Sue Parker. Has she got her act together? Paul has a a plan to make Helen paint again. Charlene decides to leave home.

Harold and Jim become partners with Rob at the garage. Paul enters Helen's picture into a competition.

Harold refuses to be a silent partner. Madge accepts Paul's offer, to allow Charlene to live in the caravan.

Sue Parker starts working at the bank. Helen finds out about Paul's secret plan.

Helen thinks that Paul should have asked her before sending her picture into a competition.. Charlene gets scared on her first night in the van.

Charlene searches for an intruder. Helen is being stubborn and refuses to forgive Paul.

Scott helps Helen to realise that Paul meant well. Gail's ex husband makes a surprise appearance.

Paul rents Clive's old house to Gail and Rob after they are evicted. Jeremy has a proposition for Rob.

After the caravan is trashed, Charlene thinks she knows who the prowler is. Gail is unhappy that her dad is helping to repair an old racing car, that usually brings bad luck.

Henry confesses to Charlene that he was the prowler. Harold makes a scene at the bucks party.

After Des refuses to give him money, Mike finds out about the fund his mum set up. Gail and Rob move onto Ramsay Street.

Madge takes Daphne to a doctor. Sue moves into the van with Charlene.

Daphne goes to hospital to get some rest. Paul wants to get into business with Mr Udagawa, but he needs a wife.

News of Paul and Gail's 'engagement' spreads. Mike comes to his senses.

Harold and Mrs Mangel accidentally get drunk. Gail agrees to go along with Paul's plan. Mike wants to buy a motorbike, causing concerns.

Harold and Mrs Mangel are found in a compromising position. The next day, they both have hangovers. Henry is accused of a crime.

Lucy returns from her trip to Europe, but she isn't happy. Where was Henry the night of the burglary?

Jim and Helen try to cheer up Lucy. Henry reveals where he was at the time of the break-in. Police arrive to search the Ramsay house.

Henry decides to leave home, but changes his mind after Madge apologises for not believing him. Lucy doesn't want to return to school.

Scott buys Charlene a ring. Lucy makes a decision about her future. A dangerous situation is developing at the caravan.

The spilled petrol causes the caravan to explode. Will Scott and Charlene get away in time?

Gail breaks off her 'engagement' to Paul. Scott and Charlene make plans to live together.

Henry and Sue break up. Mrs Mangel is suspicious of Gail and Jeremy.

Lucy hosts a party, but no-one shows up. Madge's attempt to get Harold, Jim and Rob to get along again, doesn't go well.

Erma apologises to Lucy. Madge loses the diamond from her ring. Jeremy tests the racing car.

Gail is devastated over Jeremy's death. Harold gets angry when he finds out about the diamond.

Gail discovers that Jeremy had a wife, when she comes looking for him. Charlene finds a sales job, and persuades Scott, Henry and Jane to invest in her idea. Paul comforts Gail and she tells him that the engagement is back on.

Jane makes a discovery about the polish they are selling. Jim decides to buy 'No. 13'.

Gail and Helen are not happy with Jim's decision to buy 'No 13'. Charlene, Scott, Henry and Jane discover that the company responsible for the polish, has gone.

Jim and Helen host a party to celebrate Gail and Paul's engagement. Scott reveals his plans to live with Charlene.

Madge and Jim are unhappy about Scott and Charlene's decision to move in together. Des and Daphne have a falling out.

Scott and Charlene go flat hunting. Scott puts his car on sale, then makes a stupid mistake.

Scott reports his stolen car to the police, but has no luck. Charlene finds Madge's diamond inside her trifle. Madge agrees to Scott moving in, despite Harold's objections. Madge and Harold have an argument by the lake.

Harold and Madge search Lassiter's lake for the ring. Mrs Mangel falls off a ladder whist helping out in Daphne's nursery.

Mrs Mangel is suffering from amnesia after her fall and seems to have forgotten the last 2 years. Scott gets himself a job.

Mrs Mangel has an embarrassing incident. Henry begins his search for Madge's ring. Harold moves into Lassiters. Scott pops the question to Charlene.

Scott and Charlene get engaged, but how will Jim react? Henry finds Madge's ring, with Lucy's help.

Scott and Jim are angry with each other. Madge tells Scott and Charlene they can live with her after the wedding.

Jim test drives 'No 13', then decides to sell it. Charlene finds her perfect wedding dress, but can she afford it? Scott and Jim resolve their differences at Anne's grave.

Lucy's keen to find out what bone she found at the lake. Paul gives Henry a Job. Jim gives Anne's necklace to Charlene.

Paul and Gail spring a surprise wedding on their families. Mrs Mangel mistakenly believes that her husband, Len, died.

Henry works hard through the night so he can surprise Charlene with a gift. Mrs Mangel starts talking to the Rose where she believes her husbands ashes are buried.

Daphne is upset that she wasn't invited to Paul and Gail's wedding. Mrs Mangel decides to sue Des and Daphne for her accident.

Mrs Mangel meets with a lawyer, leaving Des and Daphne worried that they could lose everything. Paul offers Madge a new job.

Mrs Mangel asks Harold to go to the church dance with her. The bone that Lucy found appears to be aboriginal.

Madge suggests to Mrs Mangel that she should cook a steak for Harold, knowing full well that he is a vegetarian. Jim's cousin Hilary arrives, 2 days early.

Paul, Des, Henry and Mike are planning Scotts stag night. Henry has an idea but Jim lets them know he does not like practical jokes. Later with the party in full swing Paul asks Scott to join him in the cellar for a toast.

Scott knows the plan and makes a run for it from the cellar and locks everyone in. There is lots of banging and shouting from Dan and Henry emerges in a chicken suit.

Dan does not see how a schoolboy can provide for his granddaughter. Hilary butts in and says at least Scott and Charlene are getting married instead of living out of wedlock like Dan and Edna.

Wedding plans are in full swing but will it be derailed with an outbreak of measles. Charlene reveals to Scott she has spots, Madge declares they may have to cancel the wedding. Scott kisses Charlene and says if you have measles then so do I, we are not calling off the wedding.

The big day has arrived…Scott is stressing out to Mike and Paul that Charlene might not turn up. As Scott looks round, he sees Charlene coming through the door on Henrys arm, dressed in a beautiful white dress and veil. Henry places the rings on the bible and Scott slips Charlene's ring on to her finger while Jane cries in the background. The episode was filmed in secrecy and with a limited budget three months before it was broadcast. The wedding ceremony was filmed in the nave of The Holy Trinity Church in Doncaster. "Episode 523" is one of only a few Neighbours episodes to include the entire cast. A new romantic style wedding dress made from ivory silk, organza and chantilly lace was made for Minogue's character. The ballad "Suddenly", which was written and sung by Angry Anderson, was chosen as the theme to the episode. Prior to its broadcast, Minogue and Donovan promoted "Episode 523" by making several appearances at shopping centres.

Mrs Mangel is in love with Harold, and reacts badly when she discovers Harold doesn't feel the same. Harold discovers that Rob has a debt of $15,000 at the garage.

Hilary attempts to set Jim up with her friend, Beverley, before she leaves. Daphne tells Mrs Mangel the truth about Len.

Mrs Mangel gets her memory back and is furious at Jane for lying to her. Jim tries his best to avoid meeting Beverly. Mrs Mangel throws Jane out of the house.

Jane moves into the Robinson house. Rob makes a confession to Harold and Jim.

Rob finds himself in debt after gambling on horses. Paul agrees to lend him some money. Jim is rude to Beverly when she comes for dinner.

Harold decides to give up his share in the garage and dissolves the partnership. Henry wants to start his own lawn mowing business. Harold tells Madge he's leaving Erinsborough, but she begs him to stay.

Daphne searches for someone who can take over the Coffee Shop, until she has had the baby. Madge and Henry change their surname to Ramsay.

Harold offers to lend Henry some money for his lawnmower business. Harold agrees to take over the coffee shop for a while. Daphne suffers a fall after a mishap.

Daphne goes to hospital as a precaution. Mrs Mangel gets a fright, when Jane and Henry attempt to retrieve the liquid beauty bottles from her shed.

Harold takes over at the coffee shop, and immediately makes it vegetarian only. Lucy is devastated when she witnesses Paul kissing Crystal.

Lucy tries to avoid Gail after what she witnessed. Jim tells Rob that they have to sell the garage. Rob gets drunk and causes a scene in the Waterhole. Later, he goes to see Gail and ruins her and Paul's business dinner with Mr Udigawa.

Lucy forgives Paul after he gives her an explanation. Henry and Jane try to drum up business for his new lawnmower venture. Rob writes a letter for Gail, is he leaving town?

Gail arranges a meeting with Mr Udagawa. Helen contemplates taking a trip to the Bungle Bungles. Henry delivers Rob's letter to Gail, but is he too late?

Scott and Charlene return from their honeymoon to the news that Charlene has lost her apprenticeship. Mr Udigawa offers Paul a contract. Gail is worried about her fathers whereabouts. Paul offers to annul his marriage to Gail.

Henry reluctantly agrees to let Charlene help out in his business, in return for a 30% cut. Daphne hires Gino to help out in the coffee shop. Helen decides to go on her trip, but will she come back?

Mike returns from his trip and breaks up with Jane.

Daphne is angry with Harold when she finds out takings in the cafe have dropped significantly. Jane is struggling with her break up from Mike.

Henry helps Harold come up with a way to promote the cafe. Daphne decides to start selling meat again and has a themed week.

Lucy tricks Jim into going on a picnic with Beverley. The Italian food is a big hit in the cafe. Mrs Mangel makes a mistake in work.

Jim and Beverley bond during the picnic trip. Mike and Jane have a further falling out. Daphne goes into labour.

Daphne gives birth to a boy. Henry introduces his family to his new girlfriend, Melanie.

Des tries to find a name for the baby. Charlene tries to set Melanie up with Gino. Is there something wrong with the baby?

Des and Daphne are concerned about the health of their baby. They finally decide on a name for the newborn. Paul and Gail invite Scott and Charlene for dinner and they play a game for couples. Is Scott hiding something?

Scott and Charlene have a falling out over his secret. Daphne continues to be concerned about Jamie's welfare. Mike gets a surprise visitor.

Megan wants Mike to move in with her. Eileen is concerned about Mrs Mangel.

Jim and Beverly go on a date, much to Lucy's delight. Henry suffers another romantic setback. Mrs Mangel visits the doctor.

Jamie takes a turn for the worse. Beverly arrives with some news, is he going to be ok?

Des and Daphne get some good news. Mrs Mangel goes for a check up. Harold is excited to be getting a video player.

Harold and Henry help to apprehend an intruder in Mrs Mangels house. Daphne returns home, with Jamie. Mrs Mangel and Madge have a big fight on the street resulting in Mrs Mangel fainting.

Mrs Mangel is rushed to hospital after suffering a heart attack. Mike tells Des and Daphne about his plans to move out, but he doesn't go through with it. Helen returns from her trip.

Jane tries to contact her mother. Paul wants him and Gail to buy a house. Jane gets a visitor.

Jane's mother arrives in town. Harold pressure's Jane to move back into Mrs Mangels house. Paul surprises Gail by buying a house.

Jane moves back onto her Nan's house. Daphne is struggling to settle Jamie. Jane's mother is hiding a secret. Daphne and Eileen have a fight and Daphne tells her to leave.

Beverly offers Daphne some advice about Jamie. Beverly wants to buy Clive's surgery. Eileen has a fight with Charlene and Harold in the coffee shop, resulting in her leaving. Charlene buys a gift for Scott. Daphne feels like a failure.

Paul has plans to demolish the waterhole. Jane tries to make Mike jealous.

Helen inadvertently tells Rosemary about Paul's plans for the waterhole. Paul mistakenly blames Gail. Amanda and Charlene play a trick on the school caretaker in order to gain access to the school.

Helen sets Paul straight. Jim is interested in buying a workshop, which has been called 'a heap of junk'. Amanda invites Madge to lunch, but it ends in a big argument. Paul and Gail are still at odds.

Beverly gives some advice to Des and Daphne. Amanda gets an unwelcome visitor. Amanda enlists Scott and Henry for some help, before giving Jane some bad news.

Amanda agrees to stay, for now at least. Des and Daphne ask Mike to be Jamie's Godfather. Gail proposes some ideas to Rosemary. Gail asks Mike to help her make a promotional video.

Everyone is surprised by Jane's look. Gail and Mike begin to shoot the promotional video.. Amanda gets upset when her coat goes missing.

Amanda's coat is found. Eileen suffers from stage fright. Lucy is feeling out of sorts. Jane is desperate to make her mum happy. Beverly has an unexpected encounter.

Lucy is having trouble with her vision. Beverly tells Jim she would like them to take a break. Des and Daphne invite Beverly and Eileen for dinner. What is wrong with Lucy?

Lucy is rushed to hospital with a suspected brain tumor. Gail gets a surprise visitor,

Eileen's meddling in the coffee shop causes Harold to accidentally eat some meat.Lucy is very worried about her operation.

Mrs Mangel offers some words of wisdom to Lucy. Everyone waits for news of Lucy's operation. Jim spends the night at Beverley's house. Mike confronts Amanda.

Mrs Mangel returns home from hospital. Des gets caught having dinner with Amanda. Madge apologizes to Mrs Mangel.

Madge offers Daphne some advice about Des. Amanda has a falling out with her Mum and Daughter, resulting in her prompt departure from the street. Mrs Mangel plays a trick on Madge. Daphne agrees to spend some quality time with Des.

Madge invites Rob Lewis to dinner. When Harold pops in for a visit, the pair bicker. Lucy is upset about her potential partial paralysis, but a visit from her family gives her more hope. Scott and Charlene have money problems.

Charlene is offered her apprenticeship back, in Jim's new business. Scott considers leaving school to get a job. Lucy makes a new friend in hospital.

Mrs Mangel reveals that she used to read tea leaves, and swiftly takes it up again. She reads Harold's and Eileen's. Is love in the air?

Rosemary gives Gail a promotion. Mrs Mangel tries more fortune telling. Daphne returns to work, with Jamie in tow.

Someone calls the health inspector into the coffee shop. Gail and Paul are at odds. Lucy has a crush.

Des discovers who called the health department. Stephen and Jim fight for Beverly. .

Mike does the photo shoot of Lassiters, with Jane's help. Paul and Gail continue to be at odds. Beverley makes her choice.

Gail and Paul finally make up. Jim and Beverly go out for a meal. Scott and Charlene's insistence to pay their own way, causes frictions at home.

Jim,s new garage opens, and Charlene resumes her apprenticeship. Gail has an idea for a childcare centre. Harold and Eileen agree to go out, Eileen tries to make Madge jealous.

Lucy receives an upsetting letter. Harold is oblivious to Eileen's real intentions. Charlene is angry with Scott after he spends another evening in the pub. Rob contemplates moving away.

Paul is talking to Henry about the Waterhole renovations, he tells Henry the objective is to give the Waterhole a real outback feel. Des comes in and wants to talk about Jamie's christening. Paul jumps the gun, thinking Des was about to ask him to be Jamie's godfather. Madge is making baked beans for Henry's dinner so Scott and Charlene will not feel so left out.

Harold inadvertently puts on a porn movie for himself, Mrs Mangel and Eileen. Mrs Mangel plays a trick on Eileen. Following a chat with Jane, Henry decides to move out.

Harold is invited to join the church choir. An old flame of Gail's comes to town.

Jim and Beverly play a round of golf. Des and Daphne receive a mysterious gift. Paul borrows some of Rick's jokes.

Lucy gets her wires crossed, when she thinks she hears some bad news. Jamie's christening takes place, but who is the woman watching? Eileen is still worried that Harold may be a 'beast'.

Daphne's mother turns up, Daphne wants to know why? Jane becomes a poster girl. Mrs Mangel returns to work. Daphne invites her Mum to dinner.

Lucy returns home from hospital, excited to be spending some time with her Dad. Daphne is upset after finding out that her Dad blames her for the death of her brother. Des discovers some sad news, will he tell Daphne? Jim gets an urgent call from the office.

Paul offers his help and support, but Jim says there is nothing he can do, but Jim thanks Paul for offering. Rob heads off to see Gail at the office - apparently she and Paul are working late. Gail applauds Paul as she turns to face him, not saying anything. But Paul thinks he had every right to say that to Rob. Jim is steamed about Rob's behaviour - what does Rob think he's paying him for?

Madge tells Henry that the take was down by forty five dollars and Paul thinks Henry was in on Kenny with it. Kenny insists that Madge made a mistake, but Henry says that Madge is always very good with money. She tells Helen that on no account must she invite Harold for dinner - she might end up being the main course Helen says that Madge was only joking with her comments about Harold.

Harold discovers who started the rumours about him. Charlene buys a worn out, decrepit old car and vows to give it a makeover. Des tells Daphne about her father.

It's Charlene's birthday, but she thinks no-one cares. Jane turns down the modelling opportunity in America. Everyone prepares for the surprise party.

Sally shows an uncommon interest in an old family album belonging to the Clarkes.

Gail heads off on her trip to the USA. Harold tells Mrs Mangel he'll consider moving back in when he's recovered. Des wants some answers from Sally.

Des discovers the truth about Sally, Scott draws a portrait of Jane. Henry catches Des and Sally alone. Mike reads Jane's diary and discovers a secret. Beverly brings Steven to her house after his accident.

Scott and Jane share a kiss, after her gives her the portrait he drew. Henry hints that he know someone is having an affair, making Charlene suspicious. Des wants Sally to move in. Charlene is furious when she finds out about the kiss, causing Scott to move out.

Jim arrives home to some unwelcome surprises.

Jane decides to take the trip to the USA. Harold asks for Henry's help, as he proposes to Madge again.
