While Floris Wolfs is being examined in the hospital after being knocked down by his son, Romeo is fighting for his life in the same hospital after being stabbed in the back. Meanwhile, Eva and Marion are assigned a new case: the disappearance of two vulnerable girls from an institution. There are fears they may have fallen into the hands of a violent loverboy organization.

A lavish funeral service is seized upon by a criminal group for an apparent settling of accounts within the underworld. Eva throws herself into the case together with Marion.

Eva and Marion uncover a criminal organization with deep ramifications in the legitimate world. Despite significant opposition at the highest level, they manage to identify and successfully arrest both the perpetrators and the masterminds, thereby making a major contribution to the dismantling of the network and the restoration of law and order.

When a metal prospector is violently killed, Eva and Marion are unwillingly drawn into the intriguing and usually hidden world of treasure hunters and metal fishermen. In Eindhoven, the discovery of a body in a dumpster has exposed a direct link to an ongoing police investigation. While the detective team examines this macabre find, officers Romeo and Marion are conducting a traffic stop elsewhere in the city. While stopping a vehicle for a traffic violation, they make a remarkable discovery: the young driver has not only flouted traffic rules but also turns out to be involved in a criminal organization active in the drug trade. This confluence of events sheds new light on the investigation and suggests possible connections between the two incidents.

Jeroen managed to resolve the case regarding the body in the container remarkably quickly, much to Eva's surprise. While he focused on the investigation, Romeo and Marion took on the care of Aya and Felix, the young couple who had previously been taken in by Eva at De Ponti and who now turned out to be on the run from an impending honor killing. Their situation brought an extra layer of urgency and tension, where protection and discretion were of vital importance to keep the young couple safe.

Now that Eva has discovered that Richard Steen is after Wolfs' inheritance, she does whatever it takes to track him down. However, Richard is on the run, hunted by both the police and the criminal syndicate to whom he is heavily in debt. When he is finally located in Maastricht, a series of bloodcurdling events unfolds that put the situation on edge. Meanwhile, Romeo and Marion manage to track down Aya's kidnappers. The crucial question remains whether they will be in time to prevent an honor killing.
