_“You can’t look for words in abstract paintings. They’re for you to feel.”_ _**180 Degrees Longitude Passes Through Us **(2022)_ is eight episodes full of a dialogue driven story about three people facing the past, present, and future of their problems. On a road trip with his spirited mother, Wang crosses paths with In, his father’s elusive friend, leading to missing pieces of the past Wang has been desperate to find. This series feels a lot like a coming-of-age show and is very different from what viewers expect when watching a traditional bl series. It’s emotionally raw and perplex. Every single thing the characters say matters. It tells us who the characters are and what they’re running from. There’s strategic use of the camera and the character interactions. The acting is so good, I felt like each episode was too short. Because of how emotionally taxing each episode was, I wasn’t able to binge it even though I really wanted to. But not doing so allowed me to sit in what transpired and understand the story in a meaningful way. I cried A LOT especially for the final episode. You get so many stages of grief in the show and our protagonist goes through all of them. If you have the kind of heart that makes you feel what others feel, you’ll need tissues while watching this. **This is your “emotionally devastating” warning!** I kinda felt like this series was just an abstract painting. Meant to be felt and nothing else. If you don’t like dialogue driven tv shows, then you won’t enjoy this. Im an analyzer so if it’s done well, I’ll always find it interesting. _“to you who call yourself a parent… you can only give birth to them, but you don’t own them to you who are still young… you have to bleed first before you learn to you who call themselves wise… don’t let cowardice get the better of you”_
