Maarij Reka (Cirebon, 2003) is a writer-director and film student majoring in Film and Television at the Indonesian Institute of the Arts Yogyakarta. He grew up in the suburban area, making works that reflect both social and personal experiences, told through mixed media and magical realism. His short film “Dihapus dari Peta” (Erased from the Map, 2025), funded by Layar Indonesiana, premiered at Jogja-NETPAC Asian Film Festival 2025. He is currently developing his debut feature, “The Boy with His Mother’s Statue”, which received a development grant from Jakarta Film Week Producers Lab 2025.
