Luís Hindman is a BIFA-nominated writer/director of South Asian and Northern Irish descent. His early short films were first recognized in 2015 when he received the 'One to Watch' award from Into Film, sponsored by the BFI and EON Productions. The jury included Alan Parker, David Yates, and Peter Kosminsky. In the following years, Luís primarily worked as a director on music videos, most notably directing the UKMVA-nominated 'Permanent Damage' project for soul-pop artist Joesef. He made his return to narrative filmmaking with Magid / Zafar (2025), supported by the BFI and FILM4, a recipient of the inaugural Future Takes scheme. The film premiered in competition at the 2025 BFI London Film Festival and was subsequently nominated for a BIFA. He is in development on his debut feature film with BFI and FILM4.
