Alice Hoogerbrug is a first time producer from Aotearoa and is currently completing her Screen Arts degree at Massey University. Within 2025 she has produced two documentaries, “Wheels of Fate” and “Byte Sized Sound Series”, provided production assist to “Materia Gum” and assisted with lighting on multiple fiction short films.
Her interest in producing was reignighted after managing the technical operations for B.Space Club and providing lighting design and operation for venues, including Club121 and SanFran, in Wellington. She has since sought the reward of being able to provide a platform and guidance for creatives to bring their stories and visions to the screen.
Alice’s industry experience in venue-artist coordination, business collaboration and bringing atmospheric visions to life for music gigs has enabled her to enter producing with the empathy and respect for artists creativity as well as the professionalism of coordinating and managing projects.
Alice’s interest in this production was sparked by the desire to shine light on the struggles and often overlooked reality of immigration. Alice found Ryans story deeply important to share for the representation of so many immigrants in Aotearoa as well as the underlooked passion of in-line skating.
